Everyone has ‘their something’ – photography is mine

Hi! I am Kelsey Griffiths, the photographer and creative heart behind Media by Vision. 

I am a storyteller at heart, and photography has always been my way of holding onto the moments that matter most. Since childhood, I’ve always had a camera in my hand. I would spend my time documenting the memories of my family, friends, and all the little details that make life feel big.

I credit my love for photography to my parents, who helped nurture it from the beginning. Growing up, my dad was the unofficial family photographer, while my mom turned those memories into beautiful, homemade scrapbook albums. Little time capsules that still sit on our family shelves. As a teenager, it became clear I wasn’t going to put the camera down and my family signed me up for a local photography course in downtown St. John’s. I may have been the youngest person in the room and a little short on experience, but I made up for it with passion and drive. I dove in headfirst and have been learning ever since.

Five years ago, I began photographing weddings professionally. That is where I fell in love with the idea of capturing stories through my lens. Since then, I have expanded into family, lifestyle, and sports photography.

When coach Nick (Abbott) from Vision Hockey Group started dating my best friend, Nick constantly reminded me that my passion could become a special business. The VHG team and I started brainstorming ideas during lunches, and before long, we were at a local store picking up a new camera! Media by Vision was born. 

Outside of photography, I am a trained primary/elementary teacher, and I bring that same passion into my work behind the camera. I care deeply about people, their dreams, and the stories they want preserved forever. That is what Media by Vision is all about, real connection, honest storytelling, and imagery that makes you feel something.

Whether it is the vibrant energy at the rink or the magical moments of a wedding, my goal will always be to collaborate closely with clients to ensure their vision comes to life, blending creativity with technical skill in every shot.
